The 72nd San Sebastian Festival yesterday hosted the world premiere of ‘Mugaritz. No bread, no dessert’, which opened the Culinary Zinema Section, with the presence of its director Paco Plaza and Andoni Luis Aduriz and his team.

In this unique proposal, which goes beyond gastronomy, the spectator becomes an exceptional witness to the reinvention process taking place at Mugaritz, the restaurant of one of the most creative and influential chefs on the international scene.

The Culinary Zinema Section of the 72nd San Sebastian Festival yesterday hosted the world premiere of ‘Mugaritz. No bread, no dessert’, directed by Paco Plaza, who was accompanied by Mugaritz chef Andoni Luis Aduriz and part of his team at the restaurant.

The original Movistar Plus+ documentary film in collaboration with Fonte Films inaugurated the prestigious Culinary Cinema, a section that brings together cinema and gastronomy.

The proposal by Paco Plaza, director of ‘Verónica’ (Made in Spain 2017) and ‘La abuela’ (Official Selection 2021), goes beyond gastronomy. The spectator becomes an exceptional witness to the reinvention process that takes place in the restaurant of Andoni Luis Aduriz, one of the most creative and influential chefs on the international scene.

Synopsis
The Mugaritz team works behind closed doors to design a gastronomic proposal in which there is no room for ‘great successes’ from the past. Each season is an unpredictable leap into the void. A path full of questions that, with luck, are answered at the opening of the restaurant each season with the aim of challenging curious diners who pick up the gauntlet and accept the challenge.
