How can I make a reservation?

To make a reservation you first need to complete the online form, which you can find in the reservation area of our website. We will send a booking confirmation and a code to the email address given in the form.

At the time of making the reservation for the 2024 season, a charge of €115 per diner will be made. For the 2025 season, a charge of €135 per diner will be made. This amount will be subtracted from the final bill. If you are not able to attend, you can modify the reservation or transfer it to another person. This deposit is non-refundable, except in the case of duly accredited force majeure.

What happens after I send my reservation ?

Your reservation will not be confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from our reservation team. We will send you an email to the email address given in the form. In this email you can confirm the reservation and inform us of allergies or intolerances that you may have.

If I need to cancel my reservation, what should I do?

If you are not able to attend, you can modify the reservation or transfer it to another person. If you need to cancel a reservation, you can cancel it by clicking on the “cancel” button in the confirmation or reconfirmation email we have sent you. You can also cancel your reservation by sending an email to reservas@mugaritz.com or by calling +34 943 522 455.

In case of no-show on the day of your booking, the deposit will not be refunded and the booking cannot be rescheduled or transferred to a third party.

I want to change the date of my reservation. What should I do?

In case you want to change the date of your reservation, you can send us an email to reservas@mugaritz.com or call +34 943 522 455.

I want to change the number of diners in my reservation. What should I do?

If you wish to change the number of diners in your reservation, you can do so up to 48 hours in advance. If you notify us in time, the amount of the additional diners will not be refunded, but the advance payment will be deducted in full from the final bill. Late changes will result in the loss of the advance payment (€115 per person during the 2024 season and €135 per person during the 2025 season).

If you want to increase the number of guests in your reservation, you will have to make a new request in the ‘reservations’ section of the website, with the number of additional guests (not the total number of guests) and with the same name as your original reservation request. Our reservations team will take care of the change of diners in your reservation.

What awaits me at Mugaritz?

An experience designed in accordance with the way Mugaritz understands gastronomy, understood as a space for breaking certain rules and rethinking conventions in which food is nothing more than a pretext for exploring frontiers.

What is the tasting menu like?

Mugaritz offers a unique menu which represents the essence of its cuisine and philosophy. Our menu, which includes around 23-25 proposals, often changes in order to mimic the change of stations and a glimpse of our surroundings. The construction of a menu like ours requires enormous efforts in the pursue of perfection and singularity. However, the result is a personalized experience which we know will be unique.

In order to design your menu, we will consider all the information you give us (prior to your visit) regarding allergies, dislikes or any food related restriction. Even those ingredients you simply would rather avoid.

Is there a menu?

In Mugaritz there is no à la carte option. You will enjoy a menu designed especially for you.

How long does eating at Mugaritz take?

Our diners normally take up to 2,5 hours to fully enjoy the menu.

How much does the tasting menu cost?

The price of the menu during 2024 is €253 per person including taxes. The price of the menu for the 2025 season is €297 per person including taxes. Drinks are not included.

Is wine pairing available?

Our recommendation is that when you arrive at the restaurant you talk to our team of sommeliers about your tastes and preferences, so that they can offer you the best option according to your menu. Our wine cellar service is offered by the glass, bottle or various pairing options. Including a non-alcoholic option.

We also have our own wine collection: Mugaritz Vis à Vis. This is a living, mutant series of wines resulting from hand-woven collaborations with allied producers, complicit characters or simply inspiring people with whom we explore exciting proposals that are uncorked only at Mugaritz.

Do you have a gift voucher? I would like to give a lunch or dinner at Mugaritz as a gift.

The Mugaritz Experience concept consists of an invitation to a lunch or dinner where visitors can enjoy our gastronomic philosophy, based on bites to open the mind and not just the mouth. A wine pairing prepared by our team of sommeliers will accompany the menu. The experience can be consumed for two seasons from the date of issue of the voucher, the date on which the person receiving the gift will come to enjoy it being open to his/her decision. The price for this concept is €390 per person including VAT.

If you are interested in purchasing or giving the Mugaritz Experience as a gift or would like more information, please send an email to info@mugaritz.com or call +34 943 522 455 (from 9:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Saturday).

Can we go in a group?

Mugaritz has a capacity of up to 40 diners per service and can reach up to 160 after privatisation of the space. For requests for more than 40 diners, please send an email to info@mugaritz.com.

Due to the design of our tables and chairs, and in order to offer the best possible service, the maximum capacity per table is 10 people. For larger groups, guests are seated at 2 or more tables of similar size next to each other.

As far as the wine cellar is concerned, we usually suggest a series of basic options on which to build a proposal that adapts to the preferences or specific requests of the group.

Opening hours

Lunch at Mugaritz starts from 12:30 to 13:00 and from 20:00 to 20:30 for dinner. The tasting is extensive and diners stay with us for approximately 2,5 hours. Please be punctual so that you can enjoy the experience at your leisure.

At Mugaritz we have no dress code. For us, the most important thing is that you enjoy your experience and feel as comfortable as possible.

How can I get there?

Mugaritz is located in a rural area, 15-20 minutes from San Sebastian. You can check the address on Google Maps.

Is there any accommodation nearby?

Mugaritz is located in a rural area and the nearest accommodations are agrotourism or rural houses. We recommend visiting the San Sebastian Tourism website, where you can find a detailed list of the different accommodation options available in the city.

What other restaurants does IXO Grupo have?

In addition to Mugaritz, IXO Grupo has three establishments in San Sebastian: Topa Sukaldería (Basque-Latin cuisine, in the Gros district), MUKA (a proposal that invites you to explore the fire with a terrace overlooking the sea, located in the Kursaal Conference Centre) and Bodegón Alejandro (authentic Basque gastronomy, in the Old Town). In Bilbao we have two spaces, both located in the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum: Nerua (a proposal based on essence, nature and territory) and Bistró Guggenheim Bilbao (fresh cuisine with local produce).

Can we go with children? Is there a children’s menu?

The little ones at home can join you for your experience. Although we do not have a children’s tasting menu, we recommend that when you make your reservation you let us know if children will be attending so that, with your help, we can ensure that they can also have their own experience.

Are pets allowed?

For the comfort of all our guests, pets are not allowed.

Is there wheelchair access and facilities for people with reduced mobility?

Our facilities are designed and adapted for people with reduced mobility. We would be grateful if you could inform us in advance of any needs you may have so that we can adapt and offer you the greatest comfort, both at your table and in accessing the services, etc.
